Bycatch Solutions

Reducing bycatch is a collaborative process.

The Bycatch Solutions Hub connects the people, knowledge, and funding to make solutions happen.

The Path to Solutions

  1. Identify the Problem: Researchers and fishers document bycatch hotspots and species interactions in specific fisheries.
  2. Research Solutions: Scientists and gear technologists develop and test bycatch-reduction technologies and best practices.
  3. Test in Fishery: NGOs and industry partners pilot solutions in real-world fishing conditions to validate effectiveness.
  4. Scale with Partners: The Hub connects successful solutions with funding, training, and supply chain partnerships to scale globally.
